| I was working with a new client today doing a check up on their website. At first look, the site was good; Interactive, lots of moving pictures and even movies. These movies scared me. The site was old enough that it could have only been done in Flash. This was a good find for me, but crushed the client. They had over paid for a pretty site, that no one will ever be able to see on an IPad, smart phone, or even a computer locked behind any good VPN. | ![]() |

For those that don’t get this, Flash is a plugin to all web browsers. Almost every time you watch a video on the web it is on an embedded Flash player. The problem here is that virtually all smart phones currently can’t play Flash, and, according to Steve Jobs, IPads and IPhone won’t ever play Flash. This means, if you want to reach any of those hundreds of thousands of Apple mobile users, at the very least, your site needs a mobile website behind your standard site so they can see what your company is about.
If you haven’t done a check up on your site, now is a good time. Get those sites updated for all the latest mobile devices out there and make the most of every opportunity to impress your customers! |
